UNDERCURRENT
Launching in Brooklyn in 2021, Undercurrent was a unique and purpose-led arts event series.
Consisting of 14 installations, it tackled the way musical artists feel most impacted by climate change, giving each one an opportunity to illustrate their point of view with bespoke environments.
Ranging from Grimes and Bon Iver to Mt Kimbie and Actress, the impetus was to “challenge inaction through inspiration”, presenting a variety of climate change issues through the lens of art and music.
For 5 of the musical artists, custom WebGL web pieces were also created, allowing fans not able to attend the physical event a glimpse into the worlds and visions of their favorite artists.
We developed the curatorial, art direction and exhibition design, collaborating with all musicians to develop their pieces, and place them in a coherent whole across the three floors of our expansive venue.
